The center of the disaster area is called „ground zero“. In today´s news, I heard the new name for it: „Ground hero“.

In this newsline, there are some infos from the „C2N2 List - The CyberCrimeNewsNetwork“, a newsline for the security business. I am also sending our special newsline to them.

Did Nostradamus really predict New York attack?

SINGAPORE, Sept 13 (Reuters) - Internet chat rooms are abuzz with talk that 16th century French astrologer Nostradamus forecast the attack on the World Trade Center in New York.
Thousands of people have received e-mails containing this prophecy, often with a second part forecasting that the attack on the twin towers will mark the beginning of World War III.

Several versions are doing the rounds. This is one of them:
"In the year of the new century and nine months
>From the sky will come a great King of Terror
The sky will burn at forty-five degrees
Fire approaches the new city."

The text corresponds roughly to a verse in Nostradamus's Century (section) Six, Quatrain 97. Several books on Nostradamus have speculated that this quatrain's first line refers to September 2001, the ninth month in the first year of the new century, while the 45 degrees is interpreted as the latitude of the city of New York.

But New York lies just below 41 degrees latitude and Nostradamus's verse does not mention a great war, contrary to what several e-mails say. In many e-mails, the verse comes with a second part, which seems harder to link to Nostradamus:
"In the city of York there will be a great collapse
Two twin brothers torn apart by chaos
While the fortress falls the great leader will succumb
Third big war will begin when the big city is burning."

HOAXSTRADAMUS?
"(This second quatrain) is NOT by Nostradamus," read a statement on www.nostradamus-repository.org, a Web site for Nostradamus study.
Hoax or not, various versions of the verse are being forwarded by the thousands every day.

Rolf,
I don't know where to get those antenna flags, but would like to know. If you find out where they can be bought, will you let me know? I heard they've been selling over 200,000 flags a day. Whether that's accurate I don't know. Do a lot of Germans put American flags up at their houses? I heard on either Friday or Saturday that at least 200,000 Berliners gathered together and I was so touched, thank you.

I found some flags hanging here in front of company buildings. I a parking lot in front of a company, where I ordered a bullet proof vest today, there were three cars with the flags in their rear window.

The signs of the pain inflicted by the terrorists span New York, from the dust cloud over the southern tip of Manhattan to the faces of the missing tacked onto walls in Greenwich Village to the thousands who watch heartbreaking images of the World Trade Center hulk on giant television screens in Times Square.
But covering all that hurt, not only in New York but across the nation, are countless bandages in red, white and blue. Subject: New technology to track cell phones in rubble
WASHINGTON -- To help in search efforts, a federal agency is asking for cell phone or pager numbers of people feared lost in the World Trade Center collapse.
"Cutting-edge radio frequency sniffers" from Lucent Technologies will be used to track down the devices, the Federal Emergency Management Agency said.
A toll-free, 24-hour-a-day hot line is now operational at 877-348-8579 for families of victims to call and provide the numbers of any cell phones or pagers victims might have had with them when terrorists attacked the center Tuesday morning.
Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, Skytel and several other wireless companies will help in the operation, FEMA officials said.
The companies are participating in a Wireless Emergency Response Team, which is deploying all possible state-of-the-art technologies to support search-and-rescue operations at ground zero. The team has been working around the clock since Tuesday's attacks, FEMA said.

Kim Schmitz, a flamboyant former German hacker who became a multimillionaire, and three partners have offered a reward of up to $10 million "for information leading directly to the apprehension or conviction of Osama bin Laden."

Bin Laden, a Saudi-born millionaire whose base is now Afghanistan, has become a prime suspect as a driving force behind Tuesday's deadly terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.

Subject: Germany - Echelon Gave Authorities Warning Of Attacks
U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies received warning signals at least three months ago that Middle Eastern terrorists were planning to hijack commercial aircraft to use as weapons to attack important symbols of American and Israeli culture, according to a story in Germany's daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).

The FAZ, quoting unnamed German intelligence sources, said that the Echelon spy network was being used to collect information about the terrorist threats, and that U.K. intelligence services apparently also had advance warning. The FAZ, one of Germany's most respected dailies, said that even as far back as six months ago western and near-east press services were receiving information that such attacks were being planned.

US special forces 'land in Pakistan'

Newspapers in Pakistan say foreign troops have already arrived in the country.
The Nation reports a special plane carrying over two dozen foreigners landed at the Chakala airbase.
The News quotes an eyewitness as saying he saw a small contingent of US troops landing in Islamabad. There is no official confirmation of the reports.
The paper says, according to unofficial reports, over 50 personnel from the Special Services Group of the US Marines' Green Seals have landed.
It adds they plan to conduct 'target-oriented' operations against Osama bin Laden, prime suspect behind the terrorist strikes in the US.
Diplomatic sources have confirmed the arrival of two American aircraft but refused to give further details, the Press Trust Of India reports.
The Pakistani Army has taken over Karachi airport and has increased its presence at other airports in the area, according to media reports.
It's unclear whether the army takeover is in preparation for a strike against neighbouring Afghanistan.
Pakistan is under intense pressure from both the US and Afghanistan's Taliban regime following Tuesday's terrorist attack.

Rolf, I received this message from Uncle Ralph, prompted by Uncle Jack.
Our hearts go out to those in Germany who have been affected by this tragedy as well. I am living now in Hong Kong, and so have been somewhat isolated from the responses in the US, but we are all feeling the loss here regardless of the distance.

I understand that you and your family continue to be well. Please give my best to them and to those in Plettenberg who we have such fond memories. The visit and your people's celebration have been truly one of the highlights of my special Uncle Jack's life. Thanks again to everyone.

If we want the beauty of the world that we have co-created to be experienced by our children and our children's children, we will have to become spiritual activists right here, right now, and cause that to happen. We must choose to be at cause in the matter.

So, talk with God today. Ask God for help, for counsel and advice, for insight and for strength and for inner peace and for deep wisdom. Ask God on this day to show us how to show up in the world in a way that will cause the world itself to change. And join all those people around the world who are praying right now, adding your Light to the Light that dispells all fear.

Germany calls for 'measured response'

BERLIN, Germany -- Germany's President Johannes Rau has said that he does not expect the German army will take part in a military reponse to the terror attacks in the U.S.
"My impression is that it is not called for, rather what is required is support of a logistic nature," Rau said in an interview with German radio on Sunday.
Rau said the people responsible for the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington should be found and brought before a court.
"This is an attack on the whole of civilisation...Therefore we must react with civil means."

German Defence Minister Rudolf Scharping has urged a "measured response" to the terrorist attacks.

German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer stresses that political responses should be considered alongside military action if existing conflicts were not to be heightened.

On Wednesday, NATO invoked Article Five, ist mutual defence clause, for the first time in ist 52-year history.
The move was seen as opening the way for a possible collective response by the alliance, which includes Germany, to the attacks.

Scharping has said the first decisions about German participation in possible U.S. military retaliation would be made in the next few days.

The German government requires parliamentary approval each time it deploys troops outside the country, unlike most NATO members, whose governments have the final say.

Earlier on Sunday, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said Europe "will stand with America on this."

In an interview with CNN, Blair said he had spoken to French President Jacques Chirac on Saturday, as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Arab leaders.
He said he also been involved in recent days in talks with his Swedish, Spanish, Irish and German counterparts.
Blair, supporting President George W. Bush's claim that war had been declared, said: "I think the whole of the civilised world will stand together…I can assure you, I think, that whole of Europe will stand with America on this.
"People know that what happened was not just aimed at America, it was aimed at all of us."
He added: "I think that support will be there not just because of people's sense of horror and outrage at what has happened but also because of their realisation that unless we take action we are all at risk.
"So it is right for reasons of justice but it is also right for reasons of self-protection."
On Wednesday Blair will fly to Berlin for talks with Germany's Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.

French President Jacques Chirac has told CNN: "When it comes to punishing this murderous folly, France will be at the side of the United States."

On Saturday, Spain's Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar reiterated Spain's support of the U.S.
Aznar expressed "solidarity with the United States" in a telephone conversation with the American president, hours after he visited the U.S embassy and signed in the condolescence book for the victims.

But despite NATO's invocation of Article Five, there is unease among some European politicians.

Alain Richard, the French defence minister, said the NATO move was a "political declaration" and refused to use the word war to describe the attacks on the U.S.

Germany's Scharping also insisted: "We do not face a war."

CNN's European Political Editor Robin Oakley said: "No allies are likely to oppose a U.S. strikeback against known terrorists who have been linked to the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks.

"Where differences may emerge among potential allies is over the treatment of countries suspected of harbouring terrorists."
