If you know anybody, that has lost a relative because of the terrorists or
somebody that needs help, please send in a mail. We are so much in this list
over USA, we can help ! Together we stand !
I am writing this at 10:30 AM in Germany. At 10:00 AM, Germany had 5 minutes of silence to think of the victims and show support to the USA. Cars, trucks, trais, buses stopped, people stood in silence in shops and on the streets, the TV showed the pictures without comments.
We heard from the news here, that 4 german businessmen died in the planes.
Germans also worked in the WTC buildings, number of losses still unknown.
German police searched buildings in Hamburg, Germany, last night. They had FBI informations, that 2 persons linked to the terrorists had contacts in Hamburg or lived there for some time. Will keep you posted.
The NATO declared the article 5 as active. We are allies in the fight against
terrorism.
Please feel free to spread the newsletters, especially this one because of
containing the „Open letter to a terrorist“ and „Help us Light a Candle for
Unity around the World“.

Thank you Rolf for your concern about the terrible tragedy in New York. I live in California, out of the way of all this, yet I still feel stunned that anyone would do this to us. All I can say is there must be a lot of hate out there for us. What a shame.............No matter what we do we will be criticized for it I'm sure. Anyway thanks so much for your message.

Thank you for your beautiful words and thoughts. Even though NYC & America were the targets of the terrorists, it does impact the whole civilized world. Here in Oklahoma... we know how NYC & DC are feeling right now. Some friends of mine are sending this message around... Light a Candle for Unity!
Though terrorists may have struck NYC - DC - out at Americans, let us come together and show our unity. Let us show that they can not dim the heart of Americans which rages bright. On Thursday, September 13, 2001 at 10:30 pm EST, walk out your door to your front yard and light a candle or lantern to show the world that our spirit burns bright. Gather with loved ones or gather with neighbors but let our light burn in the night to show that we are united and that we remain strong.
Please pass this on to anyone you know... print it up and pass it to neighbors who may not have internet access, post it to message boards, clubs, news stations, anywhere and everywhere there is a PROUD American!
May each one of us reach out a hand of support and come together for each other to keep the faith, hope and Peace alive for all! Like the Phoenix... We Shall Overcome! Rising from the ashes even stronger than before! Together We Can Do It!

Thank you so much for your kind words and on keeping us informed as to what is going on in Germany. I have been crying for two days. This is such a shock to all of us. As you know, I live only 3 hours from New York City, and many of our 78th Division friends live close. Bill Parsons lives even closer to New York City than I do.
Today, I saw a WWII vet on the television with his two sons. He has 7 sons and one of them was on the plane that went down in Pennsylvania. He said he wished he was a young man again, so he could sign up and go over there and beat these jerks that did this. He was crying and saying that no son should die before his father. It was hearth wrenching. There was story after story of people missing their family members. This really tore my heart out.
I know my dad would feel the same way if he was alive today. He would be ready to tear the hearts out of these terrorists! So many innocent people have died.
Again, thanks for thinking of us over here in the good ole USA. I encourage everyone to fly their American flag outside of their house. It is time to unite!

your terrorist litany: "If you can not see my point, then feel my pain."
This concept is alien to Americans. We live in a country where we don't have
to see your point. But you're free to have one. We don't have to listen to your
speech. But you're free to say one. Don't know where you got the strange idea
that everyone has to agree with you.
There's a spirit that tends to take over people who come to this country, looking for opportunity, looking for liberty, looking for freedom. Even if they misuse it.
You guys seem to be incapable of understanding that we don't live in America, America lives in US! American Spirit is what it's called. And killing a few thousand of us, or a few million of us, won't change it. Most of the time, it's a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of Spirit. Until we're crossed in a cowardly manner, then it becomes an entirely different kind of Spirit.
Wait until you see what we do with that Spirit, this time. Sleep tight, if you can. We're coming.

Your recent email letter came to me from Mr. Ken Kaiser in Dublin, Ohio, USA.
Your observations from Germany are touching to me. I too am just worn out by the continuing news regarding this terrible, horrible terrorist action against the people of America. Since yesterday, I am having a very difficult time in finding the proper words to express my true feelings about this outrageous event, your words, in English, are extremely heartfelt. I think all of our lives are now changed forever. We will never be able to feel completely "safe" again.

Dear Rolf, I am writing to you from my home, NYC. We are all in a state of shock here. I cannot tell you how many times I drove past these magnificent buildings and marvelled at their majestic height. I was a city bus driver and my route was driving past the WTC. I cannot believe they are gone.
Why is our government and those who allegedly represent us, asleep at the wheel? Imagine , a plane circles the Pentagon and no one notices! I am appalled at this lack of security. Security at Laguardia Airport and Kennedy is a joke. We have illiterates laughing and joking as you go through their checkpoint. You can carry a .50 cal. machine gun and no one would even notice.
What have they done to our great country??
