Thank you for your concern. Even though we are many miles away from the
physical devastation, we are all feeling the emotional effects of this
terrible terrorist deed. The loss of life is much greater than that of
Pearl Harbor. I imagine that your uncle must be shaken because he is not
to far away from the events.
My best wishes to you and your family and God Bless America!
Your everlasting friend,

Rolf --
Thank you so much for your kind note to us all.
So it was ironic -- and sad -- to watch them come down like that --
especially knowing the innocence of their contents. A huge tragedy,
like Pearl Harbor and the Kennedy assassination -- that our country will
not soon forget.
Nevertheless, thank you again for your note of condolances. The whole
situation -- and your note -- reminds us of the great human cost of
freedom.
Best regards, always --

Mr. Wilmink,
I wish I had something profound to say on the matter of the attack. I
think I am still in somewhat of a state of shock. I will say that it
helped me to get my priorities back in their proper order and to
appreciate the many wonderful freedoms I sometimes take for granted. I
would like to express a very heartfelt thank you for your e-mail and for
your actions both at church and with the flag. Your actions serve as a
great model for all of us.
I had e-mailed you in the past asking about copies of the Pictoral
History of the 75th. I was able to get one through inter-library loan
and then to enjoy studying it. I had hoped that my uncle (Ray Powell)
who had fought in the 75th would be able to attend the reunion that was
held in Denver this year, but he could not. I plan to get more exact
information from him regarding the names of the subgroups he served in.
You had inquired about these in your response to my initial e-mail.
Again, thank you for your support. I believe good will triumph over
evil in this matter and freedom over terrorism.
May God richly bless you and your family.
John

My deceased brother, David York Feathers, Technical Sergeant, 75th
Division, would be so pleased to read your message. THANK YOU and all
others who are concerned about this cowardly act. I too am praying for
the families of the victims. This is a sad thing for the whole world.
Your words are so appreciated.
Sincerely,

I am the daughter of a wonderful man who served in the Battle of the
Bulge. During this terrifying, horrible tragedy, I find comfort in the
knowledge that there are people like all of you, who are willing to
defend our country and our freedom and return peace to the world. I
just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your past
service.

My words make no big difference, but after being in total shock
yesterday I need to tell you that:
Yesterday not only America and the American people had been attacked by
some very weak people - it was an attack against us all!
Take one thing for granted: the American people are not alone!!
Our German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said yesterday "This is a
declaration of war against the whole civilized world" and we all over
here agree with that.
I just can tell you a bit what happens over here:
all people I know are deeply shocked, nothing else but this issue is
discussed, major events and festivals in Germany had been cancelled, the
US Embassy and US Armed Forces camps, federal and Israelian buildings
and airports are protected massively by the German police, all flags on
federal builings and official institutions had been lowered, schools
celebreating a minute of silence, a "march of silence" with thousands of
people took place in Frankfurt today, the German Army is partly on
higher alert and after several bomb alerts in Berlin and Frankfurt
buildings had been evacuated today, but no bombs had been found.
NATO declared the state of joint defense. This is article 5 of the North
Atlantic Treaty Organisation pact and it has never been used before!
That means that NATO had been attacked and all countries that are part
of NATO will help the USA in case of retaliation.
Chancellor Schroeder declared that in front of the press a few minutes
ago and he made clear that Germany will take part in whatever measures
will take place. When you know our history after WWII you might know
that we doesnīt do something like that so easily, but this is the time
to stand up and show attitude.
The organizers of this mass murder should die, no doubt about that.
But itīs important to get the right people. A blind bombing of some
cities somewhere in the world will not help us in any way.
Terrorism needs to be fought in a different way, it will be difficult
and it could bring a lot of changes in this world and in our lives.
But whatever those fucking terrorists do: they canīt bring us down on
our knees!
Heads up and take care!

Dear Rolf,
What can I say about the attack on NY and Wash. Words words wont
discribe what is realy in my heart. You know we all went through Hell
once and now the world is full of a bunch of crazy people. Just what did
they gain by killing all those people.
Those poor people in the streets of NY will be scared for life.
Kids being killed by their own parents, road rage, stealing, when
will it end.Maybe we are in the last days ? My health is bad but I can
still pick up a gun to protect home and homeland. God be with us all.

This prayer was sent to me via email....it's being forward around...the
author asks that we all pray at this time, so if you want, you can say
the below and pass it on to others.
Dear God,
